FedStorm is an online incubator and networking hub designed to help former federal employees transition into entrepreneurship, consulting, and private-sector innovation. We provide resources, mentorship, and funding connections to help you launch and grow your venture.
FedStorm is built for former and transitioning federal employees — especially subject matter experts in policy, technology, security, energy, and economics — who want to start a business, consult, or collaborate on impactful projects with other members in the FedStorm network.
Absolutely not. If you are an xFed and you want to start a landscaping company or a dumpster rental business, but don’t know where to start, FedStorm is for you, too. Some of the most basic businesses are the best bread-and-butter opportunities. We just love to see people succeed. The talent in the U.S. federal government workforce is immense — FedStorm just wants to help you all harness this collective knowledge, innovation, and energy.
FedStorm is a product of Voluminant, LLC which is a privately held company that was founded by Christopher Stammer in 2004. Prior to starting Voluminant, Stammer launched “The Startup Generator” which was a collaborative workspace and business incubator in Ballston, Virginia. The space was derailed by the dot-com bust but segued into the “WirelessWednesdays” branded networking organization that held events in close to 10 cities. Voluminant has extensive federal government experience, including being awarded two GSA Schedule contracts (that have since lapsed due to lack of use), hundred of contract actions, and the company has touched close to 4,000 federal government employees around the world.
